I've tried all the tips and tricks I found on the internet regarding this issue (Bluetooth function, pairing etc.), but none of them work permanently: every time the MacBook comes out of sleep mode, scrolling doesn't work anymore. Therefore my (preliminary) conclusion is that there's something odd with the MacBook. The mouse bought with the MacBook works fine connected to the iMac also. To rule out a faulty mouse, I also tried another Magic Mouse 2 (the one connected to my iMac M1, which does not have any problems at all), but the problem remains. Power cycling the mouse fixes the issue for that moment, but of course I don't want to have to power cycle the mouse every time I want to use my computer. There is still a working Bluetooth connection (the pointer and button work perfectly), but scrolling doesn't work. However, from the start, my Magic Mouse was losing its scroll functionality when the MacBook wakes up from its sleep mode. Excited, I started my MacBook, configured it, did the necessary updates (Monterey) and installed the software I needed for my work (i.e. Along with the MacBook, I purchased a Magic Mouse 2. I'm having a rather peculiar issue with my brand new MacBook Air (M1). Magic mouse loses scroll function Hi all, Would be great if that Mouse gesture customisation gets included by Apple. So i have to toggle between those two, settings depending of what i'm doing at the time. When i disable Magic prefs, inertia scroll works again. Since big sur, and now Monterey, MagicPrefs app kinda works and does the job when it comes to scrolling area of the mouse, but what is so frustrating is that when magic prefs are enabled, inertia scroll on the OS disappears, it gets disabled. Since i am a designer, it was really frustrating having my cursor making tiny glitchy movements on screen, because my fingers were resting on the left and right button of the mouse. With magic prefs i was able to limit the scroll area of my magic mouse only to the vertical middle of the mouse. tried few, but on Monterey it does not work. Is there any other app on the market that can limit the scrolling area of the magic mouse to the middle of the mouse. There are 4 things that constitute MagicPrefs on your drive that you need to remove (this is done by moving them to the trash with the Finder or any other file manager or with unix commands via Terminal.app):ġ- the application itself typically /Applications/MagicPrefs.app (you need to quit it first if it is running, for your convenience it quits itself if you remove its pref pane)Ģ- the preference pane of the application ~/Library/PreferencePanes/MagicPrefs.prefPane (you can also delete it directly from System Preferences by clicking "Remove MagicPrefs Preference Pane")ģ- the support directory that typically includes installed plugins under ~/Library/Application Support/MagicPrefs/ (since the files in this directory are loaded by the application they also can not be deleted if it is running)Ĥ- plists of the application at ~/Library/Preferences/, ~/Library/Preferences/.plist and ~/Library/LaunchAgents/, all, maybe this was already asked, so i apologize in advance.
